I want to start off my blogging experience at Families with a brief introduction as well as a description of why you should trust me. Money is certainly a prized possession, and it should only part your company under the best circumstances. Why should you trust me to give you money advice? Well, let me first start by giving you my background and let you decide for yourself.

I am a mother and wife, who is completely responsible for my family's finances. My husband has no interest in money-matters, so luckily it is a passion of mine. For me, it all started in my youth. Being raised by a demanding father, who wanted to be sure I learned to respect money and work. I was presented with many opportunities to succeed and fail in my finances early on. Between a monthly allowance, that I had to budget myself and an early introduction into the workplace at the ripe age of 13. I had my own savings account, purse, and money flow in my preteen years. This is something I hope to also help teach my children as they grow into young adults.

Math was always my strong suit. Drawn to the logical and predictable rhythm of numbers, I launched myself into a career involving money and economics. After four years of college, I graduated with a double major of Sociology and Business Economics. Then I headed off to the world of retail buying and inventory management. Those ten years of my life as both a Buyer and Inventory Manager I learned the fine art of budgeting a large corporation's finances.

The skills I learned from my youth and the years of buying and selling products in my career, helped me transition to family money manager. After the birth of my first child, I knew my life needed a shift. Following working part-time for a short stint, I finally jumped in with both feet and quit my big salary job to be a stay-at-home mom.

To give you some perspective, I made almost twice as much as my husband. Luckily, I had managed to control and maintain our money situation - so although it was tough, we were able to make it work. It is my hopes to help all of you learn to do some of the same tricks and tips with your family's money.

Check back regularly to learn more from my intensive background in money management. But, no matter what, remember that money is precious. You shouldn't easily trust anyone's advice, even mine. The best advice I can give you is to take the time to research and learn all you can about money, budgets, and finances. It can truly make the difference in your's and your family's life.
