New Years Perspective on Money

Who doesn't want more money? Speak up now... I would love to hear it! The strange thing about money is you tend to spend what you have. Even hardcore savers do the same thing. The more you make, the more you spend. The same also happens in reverse.

It seems to almost be subconscious. There is a mindset about how many dollars sit in your bank account. If you feel poor, you tend to be more careful with your money habits. This is one of the reasons why having an automatic savings plan can deceive your mind into feeling poorer than it is, enabling you to save without much trouble.

People equate money with math, numbers and symbols. In reality, money is far more social and emotional. Economics is not a science like biology. It is a science of people. Certainly there are hard factors like percentages, additions and subtractions, but what makes economics happen are people and their habits.

Whether it is the large scale economy or small budget, the way you feel about your financial situation can greatly affect its success. The government knows this and so does the media. They will attempt to sway your perspective in order to impact global change. The economy is shaped by group dynamics. This can easily shift as people read, discuss and react.

Money is not a foreign force, while at times it may feel as such. Many people feel overwhelmed by money. Don't let it happen to you. Your feelings about money will affect its presence in your life. If you let it overwhelm you, then it will be hard and frustrating to manage it.

As we move into the New Year, I invite you to also make a resolution to approach money in a new way. Step back and look at the true simplicity of it all. Allow yourself to become more aware of how financial matters affect your whole life.
