Recently the girls and I went to a birthday party for a friend’s daughter who was turning eight. My friend is a former foster mom with two children whom she fostered as a sibling group and subsequently adopted. She and her children have been at all of Jessie’s birthday parties and I’ve been at her children’s since we met.
