Kroger’s Coupon Policy

You can save some money on your grocery bill when you use coupons. Of course, that will only work if the store you shop at is willing to accept the coupons you have brought with you. It is always a good idea to check out the coupon policy of the store you want to shop at before you go. The coupon policy can change at any time, and without warning. Grocery and Gas Station Discount Promotions

When the Tom Thumb supermarket moved in roughly 14 miles away, I wasn’t excited about the attached gas station. It was one of the more expensive stations in the area. The three cents per gallon discount I would get just for using my Tom Thumb rewards card wasn’t worth it. I could get cheaper gas on my way to somewhere else. I don’t remember when Tom Thumb decided to change its price structure, but the gas was more affordable. A three cent a gallon discount after shopping for groceries was a nice perk. I could save three cents a gallon … Continue reading

Kroger Gas Savings

When we moved to Texas there was a Tom Thumb supermarket in the city where we lived. I fell in love with Tom Thumb for everything that it is but also because it’s a Safeway store. Coupons and in-store discounts aren’t the only savings, though. … Continue reading

The Great American Gas Out Fizzles Out

Did you take part in yesterday’s Great American Gas Out? It was a grass roots movement to have all motorists boycott gas stations for one day with the hopes it would somehow have an impact on gas prices. One email I received promoting the boycott had a goal of taking $2.3 billion in oil company profits. Needless to say, gas prices in my area are just as high today ($3.30 a gallon) as they were yesterday. So to the man who I ran into yesterday in the check out line at Wal-Mart who insisted that one-day boycott had exactly zero … Continue reading

Magazine Deals, and All You

Finding coupons in magazines is nothing new. Magazines in your supermarket that focus on home and family have always featured coupons in their advertising. The absolute best magazine for coupon finds is All You, available by subscription, or for purchase at Walmart. All You typically features over $100 worth of coupons. This month’s June issue has a total coupon savings of $112.55. Many of the coupons featured are high value, $1.00 or more. When did you ever see a $3 coupon on Equal? That value jumps right out at me. The magazine itself is a good resource for frugal practices, … Continue reading
