Rewards R Us Reward

I love shopping. I don’t shop for much more than essentials because I just don’t have the funds. The shopping I do beyond groceries and household supplies is usually for the children. I know I’m not alone in this. I think all parents find that they shop for the kids quite a bit. Christmas just ended. I’m very fortunate that I don’t have any bills left over and Christmas is paid for. Christmas added to my spending, though. Whenever I need to shop, especially if it’s an occasion where I need to shop more than I normally might, I look … Continue reading

Holiday Rewards Programs

Stores want shoppers back. Stores are starting new programs to lure shoppers to their doors. I love to shop but with a toddler, an infant, two cats (know anyone who wants two cats?), and a husband, I need to be careful with how I spend my money. I appreciate anything stores do to help me save while still getting the things I need to keep my home running. Target is offering its REDCard customers 5% cash back on purchases. The next time I’m at Target I’m going to get a Target REDCard debit card so I can take advantage of … Continue reading

Do Those Book Reward Programs Really Pay?

I love books, but being frugal, I usually borrow my books from the library or a friend, or buy them at yard sales, thrift stores and library sales. But when a famous chain book store offered a reward program for free, I got excited and decided to sign up. So is the reward program a good deal? I think it all depends. One part of the reward program allows you to earn points for your purchases. When you reach a certain number of points in any given month ($50 worth of purchases), you get a sale day. You can choose … Continue reading

Pros and Cons of Being a JetBlue Fan

Membership has its privileges. At least that’s what the folks at JetBlue want you to think. The discount carrier is offering select holiday bonuses to individuals who are members of its TrueBlue frequent flyer rewards program. What’s more, JetBlue is on the brink of entering into a partnership with American Airlines, so additional changes, and possibly more perks, are on the horizon for members. Those unfamiliar with JetBlue’s TrueBlue program may be surprised to learn that it doesn’t function in the same capacity as traditional frequent flyer programs. Rather, after spending $834 on airfare at jetblue.com, you’ll qualify for the … Continue reading

Advantages of Being a Frequent Flyer

I am a member of several frequent flyer programs. Some are better than others. Recently, I read an article by a leading travel expert, who is also a member of the multiple frequent flyer awards program club, though his top pick was different from mine. In this blog, I’ll share his and will follow up with a post about my favorite airline rewards program. Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards If you are a frequent flyer on discount carrier Southwest, then it pays to be a member of its Rapid Rewards program. The program is about as simplistic as they come: After … Continue reading

Target Debit Card, Part 2

The last time I went shopping at Target I requested the Target RedCard Debit Card before my purchase was complete. The process to get the card was very simple and easy. I gave the cashier my driver’s license so he could get my basic information then I had to respond to prompts on the credit/debit machine. The prompts were simple and pretty much what I expected them to be. I did have to apologize to all the people who joined my checkout line late. I should have urged them all to go through the process themselves. I was so excited. … Continue reading
